ROBSON AND JEROME

Robson & Jerome were a musical duo comprising actors Robson Golightly Green (born in Hexham on December 18, 1964) and Jerome Patrick Flynn (born in Bromley on March 16, 1963).

The duo were the unexpected stars of the television drama Soldier Soldier which they appeared in during the early nineties. During an episode of the show, the duo performed a cover of Unchained Melody as The Unrighteous Brothers, and public demand led to up and coming music mogul Simon Cowell to hassle the then-reluctant duo into recording it for release.

Robson & Jerome eventually relented and the song became the second best-selling single of the 1990s. Robson & Jerome mania was a brief, but intense, 18 months which ended in 1996 when the pair of them snubbed Cowell’s offer of £3 million for a third album, fled pop and went back to acting.
