SHAKESPEARS SISTER

Shakespears Sister is a British-Irish and American pop act that was formed in 1988 by singer, songwriter and musicians Siobhan Fahey (born September 10, 1958 in Dublin, Ireland) and Marcella Detroit (born Marcella Levy on June 21, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan). Shakespears Sister were the first project Siobhan got involved with after leaving Bananarama earlier that year, and Marcella had previously written songs and performed with the likes of Eric Clapton, Aretha Franklin and Belinda Carlisle. Shakespears Sister’s biggest song was 1992’s UK Official Singles Chart Number 1 Stay, which held there for eight consecutive weeks. Shakespears Sister spilt dramatically in 1993, reforming in 2019 for a tour and new music.
