DEF LEPPARD

Def Leppard are an English rock band formed in 1977 in Sheffield, initially seen as part of the new wave of British heavy metal movement, the band has consisted of vocalist Joe Elliott (born 1 August 1, 1959 in Sheffield), bassist Rick Savage (born December 2, 1960 in Sheffield), drummer Rick Allen (born November 1, 1963 in Dronfield, Derbyshire), guitarist Phil Collen (born 8 December 1957 in Hackney, London), guitarist Steve Clark (born April 23, 1960 in Sheffield, died January 8, 1991) and since 1992, guitarist Vivian Campbell (born 25 August 25, 1962 in Belfast, County Antrim, Northern Ireland). Def Leppard broke big once they hit on a more poppier direction in 1983 with their third album Pyromania which sold over 12 million copies worldwide, and the follow-up, 1987’s Hysteria, became their first of two UK Official Album Chart Number 1s and sold over 25 million copies. Def Leppard are one of only five rock bands with two original studio albums selling over 10 million copies each in the US, alongside the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Van Halen. Def Leppard were nominated for Best British Group at the 1988 BRIT Awards.
