Can you add all the 'Wings' hits into Sir Macca's list please as they used to in 'The Guiness Book Of Hits' books back in the day? Even Paul himself acknowledges 'Wings' as being part of his 'solo' discography as when Wings albums get reissued they are under the 'Paul McCartney Archive Collection' banner!

So the songs he wrote with John Lennon (and without him) while he was with the Beatles don't count either?
Stupid useless list

Wtf! McCartney has so much more hits, where are they!?

Why is Mull of Kintyre not on the list?

It's credited as a Wings hit. Chart books (like the Guinness British Hit Singles series) tend to group McCartney's solo and Wings stuff together, as the billing of his '70s stuff tended to be a bit fluid – 'Paul McCartney', 'Wings', 'Paul McCartney & Wings'. On this site, though, the OCC have treated them as separate acts and hence the stuff credited purely as Wings will be on a separate artist page.

That's weird... Do you mean you're not the Jeremy Dunford who posted the comment that I replied to, even though both 'your' comments appear as the same person – like the other one's posting history has been merged into yours or something??

It seems so, their icon was an alien or something.

I haven’t made any comment on the subject.

Jeremy Dunford (but not that one).

Actually it was a South Park character looking at it with my glasses on.

Looking it at the comment was a year ago. Now wondering if one of my sons got at my iPad. They roll their eyes when I bang on about Beatles/Macca stuff.

Haha, well that clears that one up! If they're still wondering about Mull of Kintyre, now you can let them know :)

Also artists who released singles and albums pre 1978 are at a disadvantage when it comes to the amount of weeks spent on the charts because there was only an official Top 50 then and only an official Top 20 before that. Where as since 1978 it became the Top 75 so it's a bit unfair when they calculate the amount of weeks spent on the charts.

Paul is right but this is going to cause people to think McCartney has been far less successful than he has, as it splits Wings stuff into two. Anyway, in practice Wings were whatever quasi-session musicians Paul was working with at the time. It was always Paul plus whoever.

It's true. It can give the wrong impression and some reference books like Virgin's The Official Hit Singles group all the McCartney and Wings chart listings together.

Partly true but you are giving Denny Laine a huge disservice in saying that it was only McCartney.

The Wings catalogue is a bit confusing. McCartney would often alternate between using the Wings name on it's own or as Paul McCartney and Wings. So the listings are in fact correct on here.

This is just silly. If you are going to use 'Paul McCartney AND Wings',all Paul McCartney collaborations with the likes of Stevie Wonder AND Michael Jackson and even Kanye West .....why are you not using the 'Wings' alone?...which includes quite a few monster hits including possibly the biggest selling 'non charity'single in the history of the UK chart 'Mull of Kyntre' and was number one for months in 1977/1978...........strange logic

Fully agree. This is nonsense. Elvis and Madonna are the joint top solo artists with the Most UK No.1 albums with 12 each. One cannot add two separate chart acts together.

Yeah and whilst you're at it why not include The Beatles as well!

Oh I see...yeh Live and Let Die is listed under Wings and under Paul McCartney, but Mull ain't....wrird

Where is the 1972 RAM album?
Why are the WINGS singles and albums not included here?
