Why does James Taylor's album show The Very Best Of Kim Wilde as the picture sleeve. :)

Hi David (when you are back online)

I am following in your tracks again.

Do you believe that the album really should be James Taylor? If so, then do you also agree that this album has not been on the chart before and should therefore be a NE, not a RE, and Weeks on Chart will be 1, not 5?

I would therefore also presume that the Kim Wilde album only spent the 4 weeks, in the lower reaches of the T100, in 1985.

Cheers

@OCC An error spotted. "The Very Best Of Kim Wilde" (1985) has nothing to do with the new James TAYLOR album at No. 4!

Hi, A_Gilek, thanks for flagging. This an automated error, seems to be a mismatch somewhere in the database, that is pulling in the wrong product. We're investigating. Cheers!

Once upon a time a Madonna single would have gone into the top 5 on it's first week but as she and Morrissey recently said the charts are ageist and it doesn't matter what anyone says they are. Years ago we used to have artists and groups of all ages but now most are under 30 with the exception of the very few. Another reason is because of this STREAMING which last summer got added to chart sales. This is totally wrong and false as an artist or group may be outselling someone on sales but losing out because of streams and this is where Madonna and others may be falling down. Even Taylor Swift and AC/DC detest this and you cannot blame them. This should NEVER have been allowed and MUST be stopped sooner rather than later. A lot of artists don't like this and the OCC should ACT on this as chart watchers and music buyers also don't like it. We all need to CAMPAIGN to get this stopped then other artists and Madonna may stand a chance of charting again. We also need more physical release singles as not everyone wishes to download music and this would help artists. Record companies please take note. Many of us still want to buy and own our music. LET'S CAMPAIGN TO GET THE MUSIC CHARTS BACK TO HOW THEY USED TO BE AND LET'S DO IT NOW. THE PRESSURE IS ON.

Ie, let's campaign to have a charts of people who make music that was popular in the 80s, popular music has changed, they haven't.

Love your comment and agree ... Charts must be create based on SALES not STREAMING if they do this then we have albums or singles charts with both old and new artists and this will be great !!!!

Nowadays Charts exclude singers over 40 having a hit single...

Madonna doesn't get to No. 1 because it's 2015 not 1986, she's had her day and there are better artists out there. Face it, she's dated and she's a total laughing stock now. Snoop, David Guetta, Dave Grohl, Giorgio Moroder and Bob Dylan have been in the business a similar time/ longer than Madonna and are still producing music, still successful and still cool.

top 40 should be based on vinyl and cd singles and not downloading or so called streaming as the charts shouldn't be for babies off 25 years old and under but the opposite off over 25s such as aba bee gees blondie etc! come on official charts start basing sales on hard copies not streaming or downloading get your act together and start sorting out and bringing back groups or singers off the 60s 70s 80s 90s not 2015s! more and more under 25s like the 80s music!
